The Fortuna Boat Hotel was exactly what we were looking for in our off-season stay in Budapest. We had previously stayed in a similar Botel (Boat Hotel) in Prague and enjoyed our stay tremendously. As such this had big shoes to fill in our eyes - but filled them it did. We reserved one of the larger rooms but it was well chosen considering our 5 day stay. The room was spacious and had large windows to see much of Buda and Pest. Especially appreciated were the heaters in the room that provided much needed shelter from the harsh winter winds blowing through the Danube. The style of the cabins and hotel was classically naval and the staff were kind and helpful. The location is close enough to the city centre despite some reviews complaining otherwise, with only a 10 min walk to the nearest bus/tram stop and maybe 25 mins to the city centre. Of particular note was the breakfast - a buffet that had a delicious range of meats, pastries, and drinks available. It should appeal to the tastes of any guests and it was consistently delicious; readying us for the day ahead. It was given in a large room with spacious views of the water.

Location is really good. Might seem a bit far from everything at first but after a walk around you realised there are quite a few buses and tram that will take you everywhere. Near the boat, if you don't feel like walking, there is the number 2 tram, definitely worth to take it as it stops in all panoramic city attractions. Also, near the tram there is a local chimney cake stand shop, waay cheaper than everywhere else, where it costs 800 HUF, compared to the 2200 HUF everywhere else. Breakfast is very nice. Good selection of pastries, breads, cheese, sausages, pancakes..everything was hot and refilled as it goes low. Beds were comfy and room was warm. Shower is hot and with good pressure. They let us do a later check out as our flight was a bit later in the day

I loved this hotel, it was a real experience staying on a boat and something just a bit different. It was a bit noisy at night times due to the occasional engine sounds but after a bust day exploring it was fine and I am a very light sleeper! The location is brilliant, it's close to the tram lines and metro and walking distance to a few of the top things to see. The breakfast was really nice to and the whole place just had a good feel about it. I would recommend to those who want to try something different. I loved it and I would stay again!

Really great place. We had an amazing view on the river and all the boats passing by. The room was big, the bed was comfy and breakfast was excellent. We booked 2 nights midweek which was half the prize than on the weekend. The room got very hot during the day, but air con when turned on in the evening nicely cooled the temperature down. We are hoping to stay here again if we ever come back to Budapest.

We have stayed on boats in the past and have enjoyed it very much. The two gentlemen who were in the dining room were a bit short with people as they entered the dining room. Other than that the dining room was very nice and the breakfast was fantastic. The front staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and nice. We would definitely stay on the boat again but in a different room.
